Car Washing
Cloister's four locations had a peak volume wash capacity of 1 million vehicles per year. The speed of the lines could be easily adjusted to reduce waiting time. Cloister constantly reviewed wash packages to give the customer numerous options and the best value for their money.
This review of wash packages included pricing, which was always a marketing challenge because Cloister charged higher prices than competitors, even though the four locations were high volume washes. This "high volume/higher price" philosophy worked, because of the product quality and the unique experience of visiting a Cloister location. As an experiment, Cloister reduced the price on an exterior wash from $12 to $8 to see what impact it would have on volume. Volume did increase, but not nearly enough to offset the lower price and higher expenses. Cloister's higher price philosophy was the right one - "BE EXPENSIVE, BUT BE WORTH IT."
Cloister took pride in being able to deliver a 6-minute exterior car wash and a 6-minute interior clean, for a total of a 12-minute total cleaning experience!

Explanation of Services:
Tire Shine:
A bonding protectant applied to the tire for a brilliant, looks-like-new shine. Cloister used Simoniz®.
Wheel Brite:
An application of wheel cleaner to remove brake dust and other road grime.
Underbody Blast:
A rinse of the underbody of the vehicle to remove road salt and grime that causes rust.
Underbody Rust Inhibitor:
A burst of rust and corrosion preventative that leaves an invisible, protective coating on the
underbody of the vehicle.
Clear Coat Protectant:
A total vehicle surface protectant designed to repel water and give a high-gloss shine.
